Privacy Policy

Overview

PhotoAssembly ("PhotoAssembly", "the App", "we", "us") is built around a simple principle: your photos are yours. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the App, in plain language.

In short: photo editing happens entirely on your device. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or has access to the photos you import, edit, or export in PhotoAssembly. The only data that leaves your device is the minimum required for advertising, described below.

Data you create in the App

• Photos you import (from your camera or photo library) are read, processed, and rendered locally on your device using on-device image processing. They are never uploaded to any server we control.
• Merged images you export are written to your device's storage and, if you choose, saved to your Photos library. We do not receive a copy.
• Cutouts and face alignment use on-device computer vision (Apple's Vision framework and/or on-device ML models) to detect subjects and faces. This analysis happens locally and is not transmitted anywhere.
• PhotoAssembly does not require an account, sign-in, or profile of any kind to be used.

Permissions the App requests

Permission	Why it's requested
Camera	To take a new photo directly from the canvas, so you can merge it with your other photos.
Photo Library (read)	To let you select existing photos to import onto the canvas.
Photo Library (add)	To save the merged image you export back to your photo library.
App Tracking Transparency	Optional. Lets you allow or deny the use of your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for more relevant ads. See "Advertising" below.

Every permission is requested only at the moment it is needed, and the App remains usable if you decline a permission — the related feature simply won't be available.

Advertising

PhotoAssembly is a free app that offers optional rewarded video ads (for example, to unlock a feature) through Google AdMob. When an ad is shown:

• Google's AdMob SDK may collect device and advertising identifiers, IP address, coarse location, and interaction data to select and measure ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• On iOS, if you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt (or it isn't shown), PhotoAssembly requests non-personalized ads only — your advertising identifier is not used for cross-app tracking.
• You always choose whether to start a rewarded ad; ads never play automatically without your action.
• Where required by applicable law (for example the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, or certain US states), PhotoAssembly presents a consent/privacy message before showing ads that require it.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't operate servers that store your photos, edits, or exports.
• We don't require you to create an account.
• We don't access your photo library or camera except for the actions you explicitly trigger (import, capture, save).

Data retention and deletion

Because your photos and edits are stored only on your device, you control their lifetime directly: deleting a creation inside the App, or deleting the App itself, removes that data from your device. We hold no copy to delete on our end. Advertising identifiers handled by Google AdMob are governed by Google's own retention practices — see their privacy policy linked above.

Children's privacy

PhotoAssembly is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at the address below and we will address it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA/UK, or state privacy laws in the US), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing, such as personalized advertising. Since PhotoAssembly itself does not collect or store personal data on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (permissions, ATT prompt) or through Google, for data processed by AdMob. International users

PhotoAssembly is available worldwide. Any data processed by third-party services described above (Google AdMob) may be processed in countries other than your own, under the safeguards described in that provider's own privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
